Waverly Kitchen
The new Owners of this 2005 home were ready to redo the kitchen from the moment they saw it. They wanted to hide the refrigerator from view, open up the mud room area to the main living area, add a bar area, and gain more counter space in terms of an island for their young children to sit at. By removing the pantry closet and re-arranging the appliances I was able to give them a very functional layout that was also visually symmetrical. To fit the bar area and the large island, the Owners had to go with an 18" deep wine refrigerator in order to keep a spacious 40" walk space. The electrical panel was relocated upstairs in order to remove that wall and its partner wall which created the tiny and unusable mud room. This not only opened up the space but helped to bring natural light into their much used living space!
